The 2020 Hyundai Sonata Enters the Next Decade a New Vehicle

With the futuristic year 2020 just around the corner, auto manufacturers are stepping up their game to offer their customers the most affluent and capable vehicles ever produced. Hyundai recently pulled back the curtain on their next-generation Sonata and suffice it to say; it's not the same Sonata as you remember.

A New Body

What immediately stands out about the 2020 Hyundai Sonata is that it is both lower and wider than ever before. The all-new Digital Pulse Cascading Grille is a stylish trapezoid, encapsulating the new Sensuous Sportiness approach that Hyundai is taking with its lineup. Every facet of the 2020 Sonata's body looks and acts differently, and yet come together to work as a cohesive whole.

Probably the most notable aspect of the 2020 Sonata's visual design is what Hyundai is calling the Hidden Lighting Lamps. When the car is turned off, these lamps appear to be simple chrome trim running up the hood and around the headlights. However, when you turn the car on, they light up with a sharp glow for an added modernity to the Sonata's aesthetic.

New Innovations

The 2020 Hyundai Sonata is built on the company's third-generation vehicle platform that unlocks improvements across the board in safety, efficiency, and performance. A key to this is the fact that the 2020 Sonata is lighter in weight than previous years, better allowing it to tap into the capabilities of its Smartstream G2.5 GDI engine.

The main technical innovation that the 2020 Hyundai Sonata will provide is the Digital Key. Sonata owners will be able to take their vehicle for a spin without having to use traditional keys; instead using the Hyundai Digital Key app on their Android device to activate the car. The Digital Key can also be shared with close family and friends, with the owner being able to set time limits on the duration at which someone can borrow the vehicle or restrict which features can be used.

The 2020 Hyundai Sonata is Coming Soon to Tuttle-Click

Now that you've gotten a taste of what the 2020 Hyundai Sonata plans to offer customers, it's fair to wonder when you might be able to get your hands on it. The 2020 Hyundai Sonata releases in October 2020.
