Make way for the upcoming Hyundai Venue crossover

The Hyundai Palisade, an upcoming, three-row premium SUV, has been getting a lot of press and attention, but there's a new upcoming Hyundai SUV that's ready to step into the limelight: the Hyundai Venue! Hyundai unveiled the Venue at the New York International Auto Show back in April, and it's set to be the brand's newest entry-level option once it arrives at Hyundai dealerships during the fall of this year.

What we know so far

One of the taglines for the Hyundai Venue is that it's "for the urban adventurer", so get ready for unique looks that don't want to blend into the scenery. The sloping roofline that's shown in contrasting colors is quite eye-catching, and we love the unique wheels that have a blocky, brutalist feel to them.

On the inside the bold and standard 8-inch touchscreen takes center stage. And even though this is an entry-level option, from the looks of it, shoppers who're above the young professional age range shouldn't feel like the interior is too "youthful".

Cargo Capabilities

Cargo wise, the Hyundai Venue is basically the same as the Kona with all seats sup, coming it at 18.7 cubic feet compared to the Kona's 19.2 cubic feet. Things shift a bit when you put the seats down, and for reference the Venue has a max 31.9 cubic feet compared to the Kona and its 45.8 cubic foot specs.

We're also excited to see that the following advanced safety features are standard: Forward collision warning with pedestrian detection Driver attention warning Lane keeping assist

As you move up the trims you can get rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and lane keeping assist.

Hyundai hasn't released official horsepower specs for the Venue, but we do know it'll have a 1.6L Gamma engine under the hood and that drivers can get either a 6-speed manual or an Intelligent Variable Transmission automatic, and this system is a first for Hyundai.
